GETTING TO KNOW US!

Thomasville Alabama is a certified Alabama Community of Excellence focused upon citywide investments and creating an unexpected quality of life. In Thomasville, leaders from government, business, education and medicine actively collaborate with volunteers to make the city a model for rural development.

Thomasville has always been a city that stands together… a community that rises to

meet the challenges we face. A genuine love thy neighbor spirit can be easily felt as you travel the streets of Thomasville on any given day.

Our city leaders and our citizens have worked

tirelessly to develop a well-rounded, progressive community that strives to be the best it can be. A great city school system, Coastal Alabama Community Colleges' award winning Thomasville campus, great parks and recreation opportunities, a vibrant performing arts program through the Arts Council of Thomasville, growing churches of various faiths and a pleasant, laid back, rural lifestyle are just a little taste of what Thomasville has to offer. Many new businesses and industries are locating here… hundreds of millions of dollars in capital investment and hundreds of new jobs are being developed here with more to come! As Mayor, I encourage you not to be misled by the population of my hometown. The Thomasville trade area is 90,000+ and growing every day. There are five Industrial Parks within a five mile radius of Thomasville, a thriving Highway US 43 Commercial Corridor and a revitalized Historic Downtown… opportunities abound in this quaint yet energetic city. Thomasville has become a destination for shopping and entertainment. The Historic Thomasville Civic Center, with its gallery and five hundred seat Bedsole Theatre accommodates traveling exhibits, performance ensembles and conventions…leading Thomasville in becoming a leading shopping and entertainment destination in Rural Southwest Alabama.

In Thomasville, we know that being a “Success Story” is about fostering innovation and sustaining momentum. Come join us and be a part of the

“Thomasville Success Story”.
